SDW held the third External Advisory Group (EAG) meeting for users of its Digital Integrated Dispositions (DIDs) mapping dataset in Edmonton on March 13, 2014. The DIDs EAG allows SDW to enter into regular consultations with a representative sample of key users and stakeholders of the DIDs and DIDs+ datasets. These mapping datasets were built and are maintained without using any taxpayer dollars and are funded through a Public Private Partnership (P3).

Representatives from the Survey/Geomatics, Oil & Gas, Forestry, Utilities and Municipal sectors, as well as the Government of Alberta, have volunteered to be members of the DIDs EAG. The EAG model of stakeholder consultation continues to provide technical direction for SDW to improve current products and develop new sustainably funded data products that support the needs of our stakeholders.
